What the Mind Believes, The Body Will Follow: Uncovering the Real Source of Cancer and Chronic Illness

Ginia Falcón  /  August 13, 2026

What if you learned that cancer wasn’t caused by your ‘bad’ genes, or by living next to a power plant, or by being exposed to asbestos?  (Yes, these things can contribute, but they aren’t the source).  What if you learned that cancer and chronic illness were really the body’s compensating response to emotional conflicts and trauma in your life?  And that by removing these conflicts and/or changing the way you internally process them, the body stops making the cancer and you heal?

And what if you also learned that you could heal your body with truly positive emotions such as gratitude, love and peace?  Finally, what if you then learned that surrendering, and not fighting your illness, actually changes your biochemistry and puts the body into a healing state?  Scientists are doing amazing research demonstrating that we can literally love our bodies back to health.  Almost as important is this fact:  What the mind believes, the body will follow.   We just need to BELIEVE that we can heal and then give ourselves the patience, love and proper techniques to do it.

Point:  Cancer and chronic illness aren’t random.  We didn’t get it because we somehow drew the short straw in life or won the illness-lottery.  Disease is often caused by the body’s overcompensation for something that happened in your life, especially emotional trauma. The human body is always self-correcting and trying to get back to its normal state called homeostasis.  For example, when you cut your finger, the body goes into serious action to heal the wound.  Most people understand this concept of healing.  Most people also know that stress and negative emotions have some impact on the body, but what may not be as clear is that negative feelings inhibit healing because stress shuts down the immune system.

The truth is this:  Emotions have Physical Consequences.  This is good news because this means that we have the power to heal just by changing our emotions.  Here is another science fact:  When you bring up positive emotions, you positively change your gene expression, reset your biochemistry, and power up your immune system.

Disease is your body’s way of telling you this: “Something about the way you are living isn’t working.  Let’s make a change.”  I know this personally because I lived it.  I was diagnosed in 2018 with an incurable blood cancer, Multiple Myeloma, and it nearly took my life.  I am now going 4+ years without using any chemo or immunotherapy.  My healing journey is about changing how I emotionally process my life, letting go of negative thoughts & past hurts, and learning to Trust Jesus with my future.  I went from living in severe stress (working 30 years in Corporate America while raising two children and taking care of dying parents) to living in gratitude, joy and peace.  By learning how to change my emotions, trust Jesus with my future, and surrender to love, I healed.

Healing is possible.  Come explore my Empower program to learn more and connect with me.
